Retraining:
Teaching assistants receiving teaching assistant evaluation scores below 4.0 on "overall is an effective teaching assistant" and/or "speaks clear, understandable English" will need to be evaluated and receive additional training by TADP the following quarter. Teaching assistants that fail to accomplish the additional training and continue to score below 4.0 may have their future TA appointments revoked by Graduate Division. Overall 4.0s Teaching assistants receiving weighted evaluation scores below 4.0 on "overall is an effective teaching assistant" will need to be oberved in the classroom and attend a follow-up consultation with a Mentor Teaching Assistant. The observation may be taped if the Mentor Teaching Assistant deems it necessary. At the follow-up meeting, an Action Plan will be developed to provide the TA with concrete techniques to improve their teaching skills. Additional meetings may be necessary to implement the Action Plan. Teaching assistants will be reviewed the next few quarters to track improvements in their scores. TAs will be contacted by a Mentor Teaching Assistant to set-up an observation date of their choosing.
